It's important to remember that your AC System is used and works in the winter months just as it does the rest of the year. When the driver selects demist mode, the AC system is operated to remove moisture and keep the windscreen and interior free and clear from condensation. This promotes safer driving at all times. With regular winter use your Air Conditioning should be in good condition to tackle those hot summer days.

But if your AC system is under-performing or just plain dead, then look below for some great offers to keep you demisted in winter and cool in summer.

When the system is in use, a low gas and oil charge leads to greatly increased wear of the compressor, due to improper lubrication. This is likely to cause premature compressor failure. Additionally, moisture from air in the system leads to corrosive acids forming in the system, which damages the entire system,whether you use it or not.  

So if your system is working do use it regularly throughout winter and summer and get an annual inspection from AutoFrio Services to make sure it is running at peak performance and is fully charged. Alternatively if your system is dead now, do not put it off to get it repaired because it may cost you significantly more.

• Air Conditioning Inspection and Re-Gas Service;

          R134a systems from €49.00   /   R12 (Pre 1993) systems from €83.00

This Service includes the same detailed Inspection of your AC system as above and the supply of R134a or RS24 gas (as appropriate), up to 1 Kilogram in weight. RS24 gas is slightly more expensive, hence the additional cost. There is an additional charge for vehicles that require more than 1000g of gas. Click here to see our full price list for details

• Leak Detection Service;   €44.00

Oxygen free Nitrogen Pressure & Vacuum Leak Testing as well as Gas Sniffer. For detailed information click here

This service offers extremely good value for money and tells you exactly what youneed to know about your system condition and whether it actually needs a service (not all cars require to be Re-Gassed) or whether you have a problem that needs further attention before carrying out the actual Re-Gas.

• Full Air Conditioning System Service;

Air Conditioning System Service; Service cost €114.50  (R134a system)
Air Conditioning System Service; Service cost €148.50 (R12 system)

This service includes the System Inspection & Report Service. Additionally a De-Gas, Nitrogen (OFN) Leak Test, Deep Vacuum A/C system, and Re-Charge is included. The full service takes approximately 2.5 hours to complete. For detailed information click here

Additional Services:

• Leak-Sealant Service; Treatment cost €64.00

Where a leak test shows up a very small leak it may be possible to fix this type of leak by using a special leak-sealant injected into the air conditioning system. For detailed information click here

• De-Odorising/Anti-Bacterial Treatment Service; €25.00

Get rid of those horrible smells now and get a healthier AC system!  Takes only 20 minutes to perform either on its own or in addition to a full AC service. For detailed information click here

Our Terms and Conditions:

1. Gas Re-Charges are warranted for 3 months from date of Service, subject to AutoFrio Services carrying out any further Repairs to the AC system as required  within this warranty period. All other AC system Repairs including parts supplied and fitted by AutoFrio Services are warranted against parts and labour costs for 12 months from the repair date.

2.  Our standard labour rate is €44.00 per hour for all additional work.

3.  The free callout service is provided at AutoFrio Services cost. We reserve the right to refuse this free service, if we feel the distance to travel, is out of our working area.

4.  All pricing is shown fully inclusive of IVA

Use it or lose it!!! Lack of use, whether the system is working or not, is the single biggest reason for subsequent system failure and costly repairs.

Why? Well, an AC system must be run on a regular basis to ensure all seals are kept lubricated. Lubricated seals help to minimise gas and oil losses and in turn prevent moisture laden air entering the system.

We handle both older R12 refrigerant gas systems (pre-1993 approx) as well as all modern R134a refrigerant systems. For the older R12 systems it is now impossible, due to environmental legislation, to offer this gas type. Our solution is to offer a true 'drop in' replacement to R12 known as RS24. This refrigerant solves the problem and considerable expense of having to completely retrofit your system to work with R134a refrigerant.
