Technical Information Vehicle air conditioning systems are designed to perform three basic functions, to cool the passenger compartment air to a lower temperature than the ambient (outside) air, to clean the air by extracting any pollen or dust particles onto the evaporator and to de-humidify the passenger compartment air to a comfortable level. In order to carry out these functions successfully the system must be able to counter the effects of unwanted heat and relative air humidity in the vehicle interior. Air Conditioning We provide a mobile car air conditioning service which involves coming to your home or work place to service your cars air conditioning system. Did You Know…..If your car has air conditioning it needs to be serviced on an annual basis, just like your engine does. Did You Also Know…..that you need to use your air conditioning at least once a week for at least half an hour, even in the winter (yes you can use your air conditioning in the winter and also your heater at the same time). Many people do not know or have never been told this! This is what could happen if you do not use it as mentioned above.
This is one of the main reasons for using the air conditioning. The other one is that the pump also needs to be used so that it too can be lubricated giving it less chance to seize up costing you hundreds of euros to replace it. There is one other reason for using the air conditioning on a regular basis and this is to slow the growth of mould and fungus building up in the ventilation system (which we can treat). A Fact That Needs Clarifying…
If you use the air conditioning on the lowest fan setting then you won’t notice much of a difference in your fuel economy, however if you set the fan speed to maximum speed for a long period of time then yes you will use more fuel. This is no different to you leaving your windows open and causing a drag, this also uses more fuel. |
